Local Nomad in The Gambia

Throughout January and part of February Local Nomad artists were working in The Gambia for a charity called WYCE. We were working within a small community in the south of The Gambia sharing skills so that women within the village could develop self-sustainable businesses. Our team ran a variety of workshops including batik, bag making, jewellery making and tie & dye. Making the jewellery was the one project that could be undertaken with very few tools. The materials needed for the jewellery could also be sourced locally so we decided this project would be good concentrate on. The jewellery project is now up and running.
